
Purpose: Beginning in Spring 2006, expanded funding will be available to support undergraduate research, extending the capabilities of the Georgetown Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (GUROP) and other fellowships. Expanded funding includes summer stipends, additional funding for semester GUROP assignments, a resource fund for undergraduate travel (for theses), faculty/student presentations, and support for students to go public with their research (posters, travel to conferences, etc.).
Who's eligible to apply? Undergraduates on the Main Campus. Faculty with undergraduate research assistants and mentees engaged in projects should encourage students to request information from the Gervase Programs (the recently named combination of GUROP, John Carroll Fellows, the Honor Council, and the Fellowship Secretariat now housed together in Gervase Hall), located on the Web at http://gervaseprograms.georgetown.edu/gurop/.
Scope of awards: $400 (semester) to $5000 (summer). Travel and publication awards will vary.
Relevant dates: Applications due March 3rd for summer funding.
