CNDLS is a home for teaching excellence where faculty can focus and reflect on their teaching, drawing on a level of resources parallel to the support for subject-area research provided by academic departments. We offer Faculty Workshops, course design resources, and individual consultations that help faculty explore new approaches and teaching strategies, incorporate an understanding of student learning styles, modify their teaching practices to be inclusive of student diversity, and explore new ways to assess how well students are learning.

We also help prepare the next generation of faculty through Graduate Student Workshops and the Apprenticeship in Teaching (AT) program. Offered in collaboration with the Graduate School, the AT program supports and challenges Georgetown graduate students to think more deeply about who they are as teachers.

Our two annual events, the Teaching, Learning & Innovation Summer Institute (TLISI) and the The Provost’s Seminar on Teaching & Learning have fostered professional growth and collegial conversation through seminars, hands-on workshops, and featuring national leaders in higher education who challenge attendees bridge strategic institutional issues with curricular and pedagogical concerns.
